A strikeout font and a crossed out font are the same thing as strikethrough. The underlined font styles sit just below each letter.
How a Font With Line Through It Works
There is no real font with line through it here. The tool adds a combining character after each letter. A combining character is a mark that joins the letter before it. U+0336 draws a long line through the middle. U+0332 draws a line below. Because it is all Unicode, the result pastes as normal text.
Since the line is added letter by letter, small gaps can show between letters on some phones. That is normal.
How to Use This Online Strikethrough Text Generator
- Type your text in the box at the top.
- The strikethrough font generator and underline font generator show every line style at once.
- Tap copy on the one you want.
- Paste it into your post, bio, comment or chat.
People call this tool many names: strike text generator, strike through text generator, strikeout text generator or crossed text generator. They all do the same job. Want more styles? Try bold font, italic font or the full font generator.
WhatsApp Has Its Own Strikethrough
On WhatsApp you do not need any tool. Put a tilde on both sides of your text, like ~cancelled~, and it shows with a line through it. WhatsApp also has *bold*, _italic_ and ```monospace```. These only work inside WhatsApp. For other apps, copy the Unicode crossed out font generator styles above. See WhatsApp font for more tips.
Underline Font Style Tips
- Use an underline font style for one short line, like a title in your bio.
- Keep strikethrough for humour or edits, like I love Mondays crossed out.
- Do not cross out important info. Screen readers may skip the line or read it oddly.
- Test on another phone. Some apps show gaps or move the lines a little.
- Pick one Unicode font underline or strike style per line, not both.
Common questions
How do I make strikethrough text?
Type your words in the tool above and pick the strike style. The tool adds a line through every letter. Tap copy and paste it anywhere.
How do I get an underline font on Instagram?
Instagram has no underline button. Use the underline font generator above, copy the underlined text, and paste it into your bio or caption. See Instagram fonts for more styles.
Is a crossed out text generator the same as strikethrough?
Yes. A crossed out text generator, a strikeout font and strikethrough all mean text with a line through the middle. This tool also makes slash and short strike versions.
Does strikethrough text work in game names?
Sometimes. Many games remove combining marks or block them. If the game allows it, keep the name short and test it once.
Why are there gaps in my strikethrough line?
The line is added letter by letter, so some fonts draw small gaps between letters or on spaces. It depends on the app and phone. Try a different strike style if the gaps bother you.
Can I strike through Hindi text?
It may work, but it often looks messy, because Hindi letters already use joining marks. For Hindi, try symbol styles on the Hindi font style page.
